C.J. Shane is a visual artist and writer in Tucson, Arizona, USA. Shane is the author of eight nonfiction and four fiction books. Her first novel, Desert Jade (2017), was a 2018 finalist for Best Thriller-Suspense, New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards. Her second Letty Valdez Mystery, Dragon's Revenge (2018) was a 2019 finalist for Best Mystery-Suspense and Best Multicultural Book, New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards. A third Letty Valdez Mystery, Daemon Waters, was published in August, 2019. Her most recent book is Kissed: A Cat Miranda Mystery (2020)\n She is a member of Sisters in Crime (national and Tucson), Arizona Mystery Writers, Alliance of Independent Authors, and Paperworks: Sonoran Collective of Paper and Book Artists. \n Shane has worked as a journalist (newspaper reporter, freelancer), an academic reference librarian, and an ESL teacher. She has traveled frequently, and she has lived and worked in Mexico and China. \n She agrees with this: “It seems to me that the good lord in his infinite wisdom gave us three things to make life bearable- hope, jokes, and dogs.
